The objective of the Affiliate Committee is to utilize the collective talents of the Affiliate members to organize and promote social and educational activities. The Committee meets regulary to support the effort of Affiliate members to interact with REALTOR® members so as to promote their services in our real estate community.

The goal/objective of the Bylaws Task Force Committee is to sudy and recommend any changes or revisions to the Association’s Bylaws and to recommend action on any suggested changes emanating from the membership, individual REALTORS® and/or the National Association of REALTORS®. This committee shall also monitor changes and additions to the Association Policy and Procedures.

Formerly the Scholarship Trust, established in 1999, the Trust was amended and renamed the Charitable Trust in October 2004. The Trust operates as a separate non-profit organization of the A.O.R. and is governed by a minimum of seven, but not more than twelve Trustees. The Trustees shall be elected by the majority vote of the Charitable Trust and confirmed by the MCAR Board of Directors. The Trust was created and shall be operated exclusively for charitable and educational purposes only. At the beginning of each calendar year, the Trustees will present to the Board of Directors for approval, a list of recommened charitable organizations to support.

The primary function of this committee is to bring awareness to the REALTOR® members regarding Fair Housing practices, Anti-Trust regulations and culture diversity. This is to be done via training at new member orientation, office visits, and special class offerings. The committee shall also be responsible for encouraging minority members to become more involved with the Association, by encouraging attendance at educational offerings, social gatherings, and serving in leadership capacities.

The Local Candiate Recommendation Committee (LCRC) makes decisions to support local candidates running for public office. Their decision to support candiates are made subsequent to completion of an interview with the LCRC Trustees and upon careful review of qualifications, voting records, experience and other pertinent factors that gauge the candidate’s suitability. Endorsement is given to candiates who have and will best represent real estate, housing and private property interests while serving in elected office. The LCRC Committee is comprised of MCAR members who have regularly attended LGR meeetings and are in good standing with the association as well as the communites in which they serve. The LCRC Nominating Committee meets annually to evaluate potential LCRC Trustees prior to making a final recommendation to the MCAR Board of Directors for placement on the LCRC.

The Local Governmental Relations (LGR) Committee serves as the primary liaison between MCAR and the California Association of REALTORS®, and assists with member mobilization for state and federal issues of importance to the real estate industry. The goal of this committee is to protect the REALTORS® of Monterey County from new ordinances, rules and regulations that impact their success. The Committee advocates on behalf of our members, current and future homeowners and the greater Monterey County real estate industry in an effort to communicate challenges and successes, preserve property rights and to streamline government processes.

Adam Pinterits


This user group is diverse and comprised of subscriber volunteers who lend their insight, expertise and leadership on a variety of key subscriber issues. Some of these issues include but are not limited to reviewing citation appeals, reviewing/modifying/adopting MLS rules language and act in an advisory capacity for MLS business practices.

The President shall appoint, with approval by the Board of Directors, a Nominating Committee of seven REALTOR® members. The President-Elect will serve as Chair of this committee. The Committee shall create a slate of candidates equal to the number of positions on the Board of Directors needing to be filled. The slate will be presented for approval no later than the April Board of Directors meeting. A member of the Nomination Committee may have his/her name placed on nomination, but will voluntarily step down from the committee at such time.

The purpose of the Professional Development Committee is to provide members with current, relevant information on furthering their real estate knowledge and skills needed to serve the public with competence and professionalism.

There shall be standing committees, known as the Professional Standards Committee and Grievance Committee, consisting of at least five members each, of whom at least a majority shall be REALTOR® Brokers. The members of the committee shall be appointed by the President, subject to confirmation by the Board of Directors for a staggered two-year term, one-third of the members of the first committee so appointed being designated for a one-year term. The President shall annually designate the Chairman of this committee, who must have served at least one year on the committee before becoming Chairman. A panel of no more than three members of the Grievance Committee will review Disciplinary Complaints. Each committee member shall attend a California Association of REALTORS® Professional Standards training session at least once every two years.

The Young Professionals Network (YPN) helps young real estate practitioners become more business savvy by hosting regular networking events, communicating with other YPN members, and sharing tips and tricks.

REALTOR® Magazine launched the Young Professionals Network (YPN) in 2006 as an outgrowth of the popular “30 Under 30” feature with the goal to help the younger generation of REALTORS® build a stronger link with the real estate industry and expand networking and business opportunities.

The Young Professionals Network and the YPN Advisory Subcommittee help young real estate practitioners become more business savvy and gain new business by hosting regular networking events, communicating with other YPN members through the popular YPN Facebook Group, and sharing tips and tricks on the YPN Lounge blog.
